About the Specialist: Meet O2X Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Zach Weatherford. Zach is currently a self-employed human performance consultant. He is contracted with the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee as well as the Naval Special Warfare Training Command, offering support and development for their staff.
Weatherford recently completed a 3-year term (2016-2019) as the Director of Human Performance for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA, after spending six years as a Civilian Human Performance Manager for the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command.
Before his Department of Defense experience, Weatherford held multiple roles with the U.S. Olympic Committee. From 2007-2009, Weatherford was a sports physiologist for the U.S. Olympic Committee, where he led a multidisciplinary team of science-based human performance professionals that implemented platforms across 17 U.S. Olympic Team programs.
In addition, Weatherford served as the Strength and Conditioning & Video Specialist for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team from 2004-2007, as well as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the U.S. Olympic Committee from 2000-2004. Throughout this time, Weatherford was on staff for three Olympic Games: 2004 in Athens, 2006 in Torino and 2008 in Beijing.
