Meet Jimmy, the O2X Tactical Athlete of the week
A Firefighter in New York, Jimmy is dedicated to health and wellness and serves as an inspiration for others. A passion for excellence in fire and rescue, combined with an approach to a healthy lifestyle is what makes Jimmy our tactical athlete of the week. Here’s more from Jimmy:
What got you into your profession?
My name is Jimmy and I’m from Albany, NY where I’ve worked as a firefighter for 8 years, and am assigned to Engine 2 in Arbor Hill. Growing up in Albany, I knew at 5 years old I wanted to be a firefighter. While in college, I took the Albany Fire Test and was lucky enough to begin the hiring process within a year of graduating.
What motivates you?
I’ve always been motivated to stay in shape due to my athletic background. I began doing CrossFit workouts with a teammate in college and have been following CrossFit training ever since. For me, being in the fire service has made it easy to stay motivated because as firefighters we’re expected to perform tasks that others can’t, that’s why we get called, and I think we have a responsibility to make sure we’re not only educated in our duties but also physically fit to perform those duties at the highest level possible.
Know someone who we should feature as a tactical athlete of the week?
