VP of Finance
The VP of Finance is the senior finance leader in the organization, responsible for the full financial reporting and planning function. The role reports directly to the CEO and serves as the primary finance resource across the business — partnering closely with the senior leadership team on sales operations, pipeline analytics, and growth-related financial planning, while maintaining accountability for month-end close oversight, board reporting, and day-to-day financial operations. The role functionally supervises the accounting team and coordinates with the PE sponsor (Falfurrias Growth Partners) on reporting standards and investor deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close Oversight
- Reviews and approves the monthly financial close prepared by the accounting team; ensures accuracy of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement across On-Site Specialists (OSS), Events, and O2X Connect (software) revenue lines.
- Prepares and delivers the monthly board package, including variance analysis against plan, KPI commentary, and rolling cash projections.
- Maintains and refines the company’s financial model, including the annual budget, monthly reforecast, and LTM/YTD tracking views.
FP&A and Business Partnering
- Develops and maintains driver-based financial models covering gross margin by vertical (OSS, Events, O2X Connect), headcount, utilization rates, and contract-level profitability.
- Partners with the Executive Vice President of Sales on CRM integration and pipeline-to-revenue analytics, providing financial context on committed, qualified, and prospect pipeline stages.
- Supports sales operations by translating pipeline data into revenue forecasts and tracking growth-related expenses against plan.
- Provides ad hoc financial analysis in support of strategic decisions, including contract pricing, new market entry, and operational investments.
Cash Management & Accounts Receivable
- Manages the company’s cash position and short-term liquidity, including direct billing and billing through client portals, monitoring of the accounts receivable aging and active coordination on collections across federal, municipal, and commercial customers.
- Oversees AP, payroll coordination, and treasury functions in partnership with the accounting team; delineates responsibility boundaries with the Controller as the team structure evolves.
- Management of all invoices, tracking AR and gaining familiarity with various client portals, such as IPP, WAAF, etc.
Accounting Team Supervision
- Functionally supervises the accounting team (outsourced Controller and support), providing direction on close priorities, workflow, and quality standards without formal direct reporting authority at launch.
- Identifies opportunities to improve close processes, financial controls, and reporting infrastructure as the organization scales.
Investor & Board Relations
- Coordinates with FGP on reporting deliverables, projections, and ad hoc financial requests; serves as the internal point of contact for investor-facing financial information.
- Supports diligence processes related to M&A activity, including preparation of financial data packages and coordination with third-party advisors.
Compliance & Cost Oversight
- Tracks and manages costs associated with federal compliance initiatives, including CMMC Level 2 and FedRAMP certification timelines and associated third-party spend.
- Monitors department-level operating expenses against budget, flagging variances and working with functional leads to manage spend.
Qualifications
Required
• 5+ Years of progressive finance experience, with demonstrated ownership of financial reporting, FP&A, and close processes.
• Experience in a services business with multiple revenue streams; familiarity with gross margin analysis at the contract or project level.
• Strong financial modeling skills; comfortable building and maintaining driver-based P&L and cash flow models in Excel.
• Experience working in or alongside a PE-backed company, with exposure to investor reporting and board-level financial packages.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or comparable accounting systems; able to work directly in the general ledger when needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with sales, operations, and executive leadership.
Preferred
• Experience with government contracting or services businesses with federal customers.
• Familiarity with CRM-to-revenue pipeline analytics and sales operations financial support.
• Prior exposure to M&A diligence processes, either on the buy or sell side.
• CPA or MBA a plus; not required.
