
Casey Carlgren
Casey Carlgren is an O2X On-Site Human Performance Specialist specializing in Strength and Conditioning and Nutrition at HSCWL – Norfolk. As both a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Registered Dietitian, he helps tactical professionals optimize their performance through integrated, evidence-based strategies that combine training, fueling, and recovery.
Prior to joining O2X, Casey gained experience across both sports and clinical nutrition settings. He worked with EXOS in Frisco, TX, supporting collegiate football athletes preparing for the NFL Combine as well as professional NFL players. He later served as a consultant dietitian with Nutritious Lifestyles, providing clinical services and conducting quality assurance audits for long-term care and skilled nursing facilities. Casey’s path into nutrition began after his service in the Marine Corps, where he provided security at Camp David and the U.S. Embassy in Yemen.
Casey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Iowa State University and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Kansas Medical Center. He also completed advanced graduate training and his dietetic internship at Florida State University. A lifelong athlete with experience in track and field, wrestling, CrossFit, powerlifting, and ultra-endurance racing, Casey brings both personal passion and professional expertise to his work. Outside of his role, he enjoys gardening and continuing to build a lifestyle centered around health and performance.
