
Charlie Badawy
Charlie Badawy is an O2X On-Site Human Performance Specialist specializing in Injury Prevention as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). He is a board-recognized Sports Certified Specialist (SCS), NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach. His expertise lies in integrating rehabilitation and performance training to help athletes prevent injuries and enhance physical capabilities.
Before joining O2X, Charlie completed advanced postdoctoral training in sports physical therapy at the University of Miami, where he worked with the rowing and swim & dive teams. He further refined his clinical expertise at Wake Forest University, supporting Division I football, basketball, and baseball programs. Following his fellowship, he remained at Wake Forest as a Clinical Sports Physical Therapist, treating injured athletes and serving as Program Coordinator for the Division I Sports Fellowship program. He also contributed to academia as an instructor in High Point University’s DPT program, focusing on strength and conditioning in sports physical therapy, and has published research related to ACL reconstruction rehabilitation.
Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. His early career included strength and conditioning internships, work as a personal trainer, experience in a mixed martial arts facility, and involvement in developing a program for an adaptive sled hockey team. Outside of work, he is an avid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and weightlifter and enjoys hiking and trail running.
