Mike Hannegan is an O2X On-Site Human Performance Specialist who specializes in Injury Prevention as a Certified Athletic Trainer with the City of Irvine Police Department. Mike leverages his extensive expertise to support the health, resilience, and performance of law enforcement personnel. Through targeted injury prevention strategies, rehabilitation programs, and individualized care, he plays a key role in promoting the overall well-being of the department.Mike has a distinguished career in professional athletic training, having worked with top-tier sports organizations. From 2012 to 2020, he served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL, where he coordinated sports medicine services for elite athletes. Before that, he held the same role with the St. Louis Blues from 2006 to 2012 and was the Head Athletic Trainer for their AHL affiliate in Peoria, IL. Most recently, he developed and implemented a military-based Sports Medicine and Injury Prevention Program for the United States Marine Corps’ 11th Regiment at Camp Pendleton, CA, with Spectrum Healthcare.Mike earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania in 2000, where he served as a Graduate Assistant. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Movement and Exercise Science at Chapman University in 1997, with a double emphasis in Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology. During his undergraduate years, he excelled as a soccer and lacrosse athlete and contributed as a Student Athletic Trainer for the baseball team. Outside of his professional roles, Mike co-owns and manages Compete Performance and Rehab in Yorba Linda, CA, a facility dedicated to sports performance and rehabilitation. He holds advanced certifications in Corrective Exercise, Performance Enhancement, Fitness Nutrition, and Golf Fitness, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in athletic training.
