Rachel Oden PT, DPT, DACM, L.Ac is a former Commander in the United States Navy currently living in San Diego, California. She graduated from the Naval Academy in 1995 with a degree in Mathematics and began her career as a Surface Warfare Officer. She served as the Undersea Warfare Officer, Damage Control Assistant and Training Officer while onboard USS OLDENDORF (DD 972). While assigned to Assault Craft Unit ONE, she served as the Landing Craft Utility (LCU) Division Officer. After her first two Division Officer tours, she was accepted for a lateral transfer to the Medical Service Corps and became a physical therapist. Rachel completed her both Master’s and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degrees at Baylor University. Assignments included Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Training Center Pearl Harbor, USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71), Navy Branch Medical Clinics, National Naval Medical Center Bethesda and Navy Medical Center Balboa. She has deployed as both a Surface Warfare Officer and a physical therapist to include humanitarian operations onboard USNS MERCY (TAH-19) and supporting ground troops with 2nd Marine Logistics Group. She finished the last four years of her naval career as the Sports Medicine Manager and head physical therapist leading the Human Performance Program at Naval Special Warfare Center. Rachel is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She is also a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a licensed acupuncturist.
