
Tina Burke
Dr. Tina M. Burke is an O2X Human Performance Sleep Specialist. She specializes in providing skills for sleeping better and techniques on how to increase your performance when working round the clock shifts or working with sleep loss.
Dr. Burke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Kent State University in Kent, OH. She then earned a Master’s of Science in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado – Boulder, followed by a dual Ph.D. in Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Her research aims at developing our understanding of mechanisms by which photic (light) and non-photic stimuli (e.g., exogenous melatonin, caffeine) can be used as countermeasures to improve sleep, alertness, performance, and overall health.
Currently, Dr. Burke is the Civilian Deputy Director of the Psychological Health Branch at the Walter Reed Institute of Research and provides oversight for military mental health research, preclinical models of stress, the Sleep Research Center, and field research teams addressing operational psychological health. Dr. Burke has had the pleasure of the support and companionship of her husband for the past 20 years. As a professional road cyclist, he was one of her first clients that she was able to instill the importance of sleep and circadian alignment on performance.
